Critics Consensus

The long awaited Magic Mike’s Last Dance will hit the screens eight years after its predecessors. Magic Mike’s Last Dance is the third edition of the Magic Mike’s franchise. The first premiered in 2012, second in 2015 and we’re expecting the third in February, 2023.

Loosely about Tatum’s personal experiences, the franchise is great for its comedy, romance, and of course music. The original movie shot its leading man to fame, and now he’s expected to bow out of the franchise.

Based on Tatum’s own experience as a stripper in Tampa, Florida, Magic Mike followed Mike (Tatum), a talented exotic dancer, who takes on a younger performer and teaches him how to make money, party, and pick up women.

With a cast of talented and attractive leading men like Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Matthew McConaughey, and Alex Pettyfer, the movie had audiences and critics alike praising it. Three years later, the sequel Magic Mike XXL went viral and audiences became certain that another film to close out this trilogy was inevitable. Now, nearly eight years later, that sequel is finally a reality.
