Manchester City recorded their second Premier League win of the season as they beat Arsenal in a tightly contested game at the Etihad.
The Blues were without a host of first-team players for the contest, with Kevin De Bruyne, Gabriel Jesus, Aymeric Laporte and Benjamin Mendy all missing out.
The absences of De Bruyne and Jesus were expected after Pep Guardiola ruled the duo out in his press conference on Friday, but there was no suggestion on the eve of the game that Laporte and Mendy would also be unavailable.
Guardiola told Sky Sports prior to kick-off that he expects to have Laporte back before Mendy returns.
City took the lead in the first half through Raheem Sterling and his left-footed strike proved to be the only goal of the game, as the Blues moved onto seven points for the campaign.
